Multiple exposure of the panels in motion. Each panel is black on one side and white on the other.
Two black and white panels each mounted on a stepping motor, revolving and turning to and
fro. They perform a pre-programmed rhythmical dance lasting about 3 minutes exploring
all the possibilities: they move together, independently, smoothly, abruptly, fast,
slow, left and right.
As an experiment I put a Walkman between the panels,
switched to REC and listened on the headphones to the cello-like sound of the panels
zipping past the mikes - the only time I have used amplification; for me,
almost akin to cheating. Later, I learnt how to make louder panels.
